VuStuff Award Guidelines
The VuStuff Award, aka the “Vuie,” established in 2010 by staff at Falvey Memorial Library, Villanova University, is meant to recognize the generation of significant work embodying the ideals of intersecting academic scholarship and digital technology, or any contribution which continuously renews the engagement by library professionals, archivists, curators, educators, and others in open access, new media, and digital initiatives that either enhance the effectiveness of the scholarly community or otherwise contributes materially or intellectually to fostering knowledge sharing worldwide, or re-creates the world of information.
The award is symbolic of the excellence it represents, and is known officially as the VuStuff Award. Unofficially it will be known as the Vuie.
The award is sponsored by Falvey Memorial Library, Villanova University.
The scope of the award will encompass projects and works in: new media, digital humanities, digital libraries and archives, the open access movement, new publication models and data tools, interactive services, scholarly communication projects, and information sharing software development.
Anyone committed to the aforementioned ideals broadly conceived — particularly librarians, information technologists, archivists, records managers, or other staff or faculty members from cultural institutions, including academic libraries of any kind and all entities committed to education — are encouraged to submit presentation applications during a period of a call for papers. Applying to present at a VuStuff meeting will automatically enter participants in the nomination process for the Vuie.
