Where to Stay

Several hotels near Villanova offer convenient lodging options for our conferences. The list below provides contact and transportation information.

Villanova Conference Center

Address:

          601 County Line Road
          Radnor, PA 19007
          Phone: 610-523-1776

Transportation:  While this lodging option is technically on Villanova campus, its tucked in the "back corner" and thus walking to the library may be a bit dangerous due to the lack of sidewalks on the roads between the conference center and the library.  Because of this, we recommend either driving the short distance or taking the SEPTA Norristown High Speed Line, from the County Line stop (500 feet from the hotel) to the Villanova stop (only two stops down).  As the front desk for more details.

Notes:  For those who want to be as close as possible to the event, though unfortunately the location of the hotel makes walking to the events somewhat dangerous, so you lose the convenience of walking into the conferences.  Still, the SEPTA Norristown High Speed Line stops by frequently enough, and if you stay on the train past Villanova you can take the train to 30th Street Station, and from there get transportation to anywhere in Philadelphia (and beyond).

Marriot Downtown Philadelphia

Address:

          1201 Market Street
          Philadelphia, PA 19107-2817
          Phone: 215-625-2900 or 1 (800) 228-9290
          Fax: 978-709-3039

Transportation:  The most convenient transport option from downtown Philadelphia is the SEPTA Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line, which can be picked up from Jefferson Station downtown.

Notes:  For our international travellers, the best way to maximize your travel experience in the area is to stay in downtown Philadelphia, as the city is flush with world class museums, sporting events and restaurants (the official Philadelphia travel guide can be found here).  While this option is a bit distant from the conference location, the Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line makes it easy to travel to the conferences (with Falvey Memorial Library roughly a five minute walk from Villanova Station).

Radnor Hotel

Address:

          591 East Lancaster Avenue
          St. David’s, PA 19087
          Phone: 610-688-5800
          Fax: 610-341-3299

Transportation:  The Radnor Hotel is the closest of the three non-campus hotels, although a short car or cab ride will probably be necessary to reach the conference.  Another option is the Radnor Station on the Septa’s Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line, just 0.5 mile from The Radnor Hotel. Those who book are welcome to call the hotel front desk (610-688-5800) from the train for complimentary car service from the Radnor Station.

Notes:  Our mainstay recommendation to visitors to Villanova University, this hotel is both close to the campus and reasonably priced.

Holiday Inn Express Midtown

Address:

          1305 Walnut Street
          Philadelphia, PA 19107
          Phone: 215-735-9300
          Fax: 215-732-2593

Transportation:  Like the Marriot above, the most convenient transport option from downtown Philadelphia is the SEPTA Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line.

Notes:  For budget-minded travellers, this hotel is the best-priced option for those wanting to stay downtown and still want a decent quality hotel, but are on a budget.  As above, this option is a bit distant from the conference location, the Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line makes it easy to travel to the conferences from Jefferson Station downtown (with Falvey Memorial Library roughly a five minute walk from Villanova Station).
